The sea is a bit of a reoccurring theme for me, I am constantly drawn to and inspired by it. After trying out my sea legs and quickly realising that I really wasn't cut out to be the next Ellen MacArthur, I still wanted capture the shapes and colours of sailing dinghies in a semi technical creative way. There is something very striking about the shapes of the sails against the sky – whatever colour it might be at the time!

I got to work in Illustrator and created line drawings taking inspiration from the blueprints for the boats themselves. I used a very basic colour palate and restricted myself to two line weights to really keep the drawings as simple as possible.

This line up is just scratching the surface – there seems to be and endless supply of dinghy classes for me to be able to continue to build my fleet!
